The most recent CASH Expo event took place on Tuesday, March 16th in St. George, Utah. Participants were able to attend free workshops on preventing foreclosure, reducing debt, investing in the current market, budgeting, repairing credit, understanding the current economy and more.

Olene Walker, Former Governor of the State of Utah, gave the keynote address. Governor Walker emphasized the importance of ongoing financial education for Utah families. She also addressed the ongoing foreclousre crisis in Utah, which has been especially devastating in the St. George area. Governor Walker encouraged audience members to seek help for foreclosure prevention by finding a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. Distressed homeowners can dial 2-1-1 to receive a free foreclosure prevention workbook and a list of local, credible housing counseling agencies.

Fannie Mae (FNMA) representatives presented a workshop on the Making Home Affordable Program, including information regarding eligibility and alternative options for homeowners. Learn more about the Making Home Affordable program at www.makinghomeaffordable.gov.
